The Escape by Discover® card is a rewards card for those who are always on the move. Built around travel rewards, this card comes with 25,000 bonus miles, redeemable for the first 25 months at 1,000 miles for each month you make a purchase. In addition, for the first six months cardholders receive 0 percent balance transfers and 0 percent annual percentage rate. The rate then increases to 11.99 percent variable, based on individual credit history.
Rewards include unrestricted travel with any airline or online travel site, unlimited double miles for every dollar spent, two additional miles for every dollar spent on ShopDiscover, an exclusive online shopping site from Discover, and redemption options, where cardholders can redeem miles for cash, gift cards, or travel credits.
Escape by Discover® Features 0% APR on Balance Transfers & Purchases for 6 Months
There are several additional travel benefits that cardholders receive, such as car rental insurance with coverage up to $50,000 with no deductable, lost or damaged luggage insurance up to $2,500, travel delay insurance up to $150 per day, and trip cancellation insurance up to $2,500.
Like similar travel reward-geared credit cards, there is an annual fee. The yearly fee for the privilege to use Escape by Discover® is $60, or an average of $5 per month, which isn’t too bad as far as annual fees are concerned.
Escape by Discover® is not the only travel rewards card that the company provides. For those seeking travel rewards, you may want to take a look at the Miles by Discover® card, which similarly to Escape, there is 0 percent annual percentage rate on balance transfers and on purchases for the first six months. The main difference between the two is that Miles by Discover® only offers 12,000 bonus miles at 1,000 miles for the first twelve months.
